DeTu (German-Turkish Academy for Science, Economy and Intercultural Work) is an association that was founded in Mainz in 2015.
DETU focuses on three central areas of activity:
DETU organises measures to promote the labour market and education. This includes the implementation of educational programmes, consultations, the development of new approaches in the education sector as well as business consultations and effective network management.
The focus is on the development of innovative projects in the fields of science, business and intercultural co-operation in order to create sustainable solutions for current challenges.
DETU is actively involved in public relations activities through interviews, surveys and other measures to promote dialogue and networking. DETU is an organisation that reaches out to everyone and pays special attention to the migrant community. The organisation's expertise on Turkish society in Germany and Turkey is an important but complementary competence. DETU prioritises the interests of society in Germany and develops projects and measures aimed at promoting science, business and intercultural work in Germany.
Since its foundation, DETU has been working with a dedicated board and specialised working commissions consisting of experts in their respective fields. By working closely with institutions and organisations in Germany and Turkey, the association makes an important contribution to deepening relations between the two countries and promoting multicultural coexistence. DETU also has Erasmus Plus accreditation and implements projects under this programme that support both intercultural education and professional qualifications.
